What is Love? I don’t know, but Love is blind, So they say.
The feelings that accompany love, can make one blind to certain realities in its early days. Such that, everyone else can see what is wrong, but the lover just cannot.
However, this is different from being able to see good where everyone sees bad. This is inability to see bad at all where there is evil present because feelings have beclouded judgement.
So, to simply say love is blind will be incorrect. But, it will be equally incorrect to say love is not blind.
What How then does Love work? What is Love’s M.O?
Love, is always aware of the bad and evil, and still tarries. Its unconditionality is not in the face of good alone, but also of evil. This is why we have terms like “tough love” because love many times require us to actually face and deal with the evil.
For “it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us”. Thus, “He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us.”
Love does not just see the bad and live with it, it makes empowers for Change. You cannot be Loved and remain the same. It is the “Go and Sin no more” Verdict.
Love being blind at most offers denial. The father was not blind to our issues, His Love was hurt, and His response was Forgiveness not denial.
Before You say “It’s the God kind of Love, I’m only Human”, remember “we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us”. Therefore “we Love because He first Loved Us”
